Free users have severally restricted access to the social networking features, making the site only useful to Gold members. A Gold membership is a little pricey at $24.95/mo in comparison to the other networks. Note the other NON-MLM opportunity is even more expensive. Due to the nature of the opportunity being non network marketing based, the increased fees seem reasonable, otherwise the income opportunity would be negligible.
SWOM pays out a total of 70% to it’s affiliates which is good. 50% of the compensation is based on site participation which we don’t like, meaning you need to be using the site regularly to make decent money. You must have a minimum $25 balance to get paid. They use Alertpay and sadly only pay once a month.
We think their compensation system is more than goofy. As you’ll see in the details below it takes understanding well what does and doesn’t make one money. Some of the things they track to pay income merely create a flood of wall post by others seeking to make some money while providing no real value to anyone. We think the users time could be spent better on doing other things than simple task mastering to gain a foothold in some bonus pool.

This means you can earn commissions month after month just for participating in the Swom social network! This program is based upon accumulating Community Points. SWOM has a list of activities that earn you points. For example “like” someones post and get a point, receive a like from another user and get 2 points. For a complete list see the SWOM FAQ page. You can earn a maximum of 200 community points per day. Also, there are sometimes special competitions which will allow you to earn more. On or around the 10th of each month, they add up the total number of community points earned by Gold members during the previous month. The amount you earn depends on how many points you have and the size of the bonus pool. The more community points you have, the bigger portion of the bonus pool you get!
5. They claim the ability to advertise your other opportunities is a way to make money with SWOM. We think that’s a crock. Yeah you’re able to post links to other opportunities you are involved with on your profile page, but so is everyone else that is part of SWOM. While you might recruit some users to your other opportunities through this avenue we really don’t think it should be counted as a 5th way to make money with SWOM.

Recommendation:
SWOM has the most complicated compensation structure to understand, of all the paying social media sites. While you can make decent money using the site, the key is, you must be using the site regularly and following all their quirky rules. If you think you’ll be able to refer a few people and make a bunch of money you’re dead wrong. Unless you have a very large network to start with or you are able to market to the masses you’ll only make a small residual income by referring new people.The real money in SWOM is the bonus pools. If you have a lot of time available, then SWOM might work for you. If this is you, take the time to read all their rules in detail and do the activities daily to earn points and bonus money. Since the bonus pools are based on company wide revenue, a new user could join, never introduce anyone to SWOM and still make a sizeable bonus. We doubt many take the time to do all the activities required, so the few who do, really make out.
If you’re stretched thin on time, we wouldn’t recommend SWOM as an opportunity for you. Take a look at some of the other social media networks we’ve reviewed that don’t rely on site usage to earn an income. You might want to consider looking at their sister site BizOppers. It’s very well put together and has a much better compensation plan.
